Trail report ????

Well the snow has come slow to Newark, i have not been up in few weeks but our trail master told me last weekend 1-8 there was 10" on the ground around the pond and grooming had not yet started.

The next week hope fully will bring snow and the season will begin??

Please respect the land owners, if the gate is closed the trail is still closed.

Where did the snow go??

Well the rain and warm weather have hit us hard in Newark, the riding was just getting good in our area but mother nature felt she would change that.
The cold weather will return this week and there are a few storm on the map. In years past at times there was only limited riding till mid. January and after that we had a great riding season. At this time i would say that riding is limited to the higher elevations till more snow and cold weather returns.

Riding be very careful.

Well riders we did have a nice base till the rain came just before the season opened, some areas did receive 8-12 inches this week but it is light fluff.
Any grooming that is going on is limited to higher elevations. If you are thinking of riding be very careful as there is wet spots and with the thin snow the rocks are not to far away.
Some area may still have gates closed and all clubs are waiting for more snow. The weather sound like it will stay cold this week but there are no major snow storms in the future this week. Have a safe holiday and hopefully Santa will bring some snow to the area.

Born to Snowmobile forced to work.

Well the season is just a few day's away.

The Newark EZ Riders trail system is all set to go, that is if we don't get any weather related problems in the next few days.
I was in Newark on 12-8-2010 and inspected the trail, cut a few downed trees, cleared the rocks at Job's pond so the gate could be opened.
There was 8-12 inches of snow and nice and cold but as i set here at home and see the rain fall i just hope it will not wash away the base that we had.
I am sure when the the weather turns back to winter and we have the right amount of snow on the ground the Brighton club will begin packing and grooming our trail system.
Again i would like to thank all of our land owners who make this trail possible and all the volunteers in our club that help us make this happen.
                                See you on the trail
